I come here for the fizzing brew
I come here to bathe in the sunlight of Earth
But this is no place to admire the forest
Trucks rattle by and the sun warms the air
On the concrete slab where we've made our home
The plants eke out a meager living in the sidewalk cracks
There's something to be said though
For the oven warmth of the local intersection
Friendly strangers will say hello, admiring your beer
And the waft of vintage store will greet you
Trees tower down the block, in any case
And marigolds bloom in their wooden boxes
